2022 Legion Youth Programs
- High School Oratorical Contest (all HS Students) & Americanism Essay Contest (7th grade through HS Seniors) are coming up soon (January and February). Both have cash rewards and possible scholarships. Contact Bill Geary (billgeary@att.net) or go to illegion.org for more information.
- Boys State is for Juniors and Seniors and takes place in June. Learn more about this program at illegion.org or illinoisboysstate.org. If interested contact Bill Geary (billgeary@att.net).
- Girls State is also in June at Eastern Illinois University. If interested contact Shirley Koop (georgekp1@sbcglobal.net)
- Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy is a program for Girls & Boys ages 15 thru 17. Learn more at illegion.org.
- Wauconda Post 911 has Scholarships available for children & grandchildren of our members. We give $500 cash scholarships to college students. Apply as a High School Senior and continue each semester as you go thru college. Members can request an application for the Post 911 Scholarship from Bill Geary (billgeary@att.net)
